The Board of DTU has approved a major grant for DTU Elektro to develop the future DTU Electromagnetic Test Centre (DTU ETC).  This will be a Danish international centre of excellence for high-accuracy testing of microwave technology and it will greatly extend the existing capability of the DTU-ESA Spherical Near-Field Antenna Test Facility.  In addition to a significant upgrade of the DTU-ESA Facility and the re-establishment of two smaller anechoic chambers in building 353, the DTU-ETC will comprise four new laboratories as well as a teaching laboratory and a study area in a new building north of building 353.  DTU ETC will facilitate DTU to undertake a multitude of experimental testing of microwave antennas and circuits for wireless communication and sensing technologies in the frequency range from 300 MHz to 300 GHz.  The figure shows a tentative drawing of the new building connected to building 353 with a corridor; the green area is the test facility facing west while the study area and teaching laboratory are facing east to the recreational “hammock wood”.   DTU opens the Request for Tenders for the building construction in December 2018; the new building will be finished in 2021 and the new laboratories in 2022.  For more information, please contact professor Olav Breinbjerg.
