The aim of the project is to develop an optimal structure for coupling THz signal to/from the Optically Driven Terahertz Amplifier.
The surface electromagnetic wave can be decoupled from the open waveguide using discontinuity. This discontinuity forces the surface wave to radiate in free space.
The electromagnetic wave is then collected by a horn antenna positioned at an angle corresponding to the main lobe direction of the surface-wave antenna.
